Pitchforks at the ready.......... (Rochdale case)
The ringleader of a Rochdale child sex grooming gang cited human rights laws as he launched an appeal against deportation from Britain.

Paedophile Shabir Ahmed, 63, described by a judge as a "violent hypocritical bully", has written to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) claiming his convictions for child sex offences were a conspiracy to "scapegoat" Muslims, his immigration tribunal heard.

Ahmed, serving 22 years in jail, was convicted in 2012 of being the ringleader of a group of Asian men who preyed on girls as young as 13 in Rochdale, plying them with drink and drugs before they were "passed around" for sex.

He appeared before the First Tier Immigration Tribunal, sitting at Manchester Crown Court, on Tuesday to appeal against the decision by Secretary of State Theresa May to strip him of his British citizenship, the first stage in the deportation process.

Three judges will decide on Ahmed's appeal, as well as on appeals by three other men who were part of the same gang and who also face deportation.

Ahmed, who sat in the dock flanked by prison officers, told the court: "She (Theresa May) says all her trouble is coming from Muslims, yet she's the biggest trouble causer in the world."

He said he was convicted by "eleven white jurors", adding: "It's become fashionable to blame everything on Muslims these days."

Vinesh Mandalia, representing the Home Office, told the tribunal Mrs May had exercised her right as the Home Office minister to deprive Ahmed of British citizenship "if it is conducive to public good".

Mr Mandalia said Ahmed's appeal against depriving him of British citizenship included an appeal to the ECHR against his criminal convictions, which had been acknowledged by that court but did not mean they would hear his case.

Ahmed's appeal states his trial was "tainted" and a "miscarriage of justice" as it was "institutionally racist" using Muslims as "scapegoats".

Ahmed, who first came to the UK in 1967 aged 14, is a British citizen, but would not be rendered stateless as he retains Pakistani nationality having been born in Gujrat.

Three times married Ahmed told the court he had four children living in the UK, had lived here for nearly 50 years and had £83,000 in a UK bank account.

Ahmed was given a 19-year sentence at Liverpool Crown Court in May 2012 for a string of child sex offences, including rape.

He was also jailed for 22 years, to run concurrently, in July 2012 for 30 rapes against another victim.

Presiding tribunal Judge Michael Clements reserved his decision on Ahmed and the appeal of a second man, Qari Abdul Rauf.

Article 14 of the Human Rights Act says one can’t be discriminated against on the grounds of sex, race, colour, language, religion, and political opinion.

Mashed, Oman is just desert and mountains but Omanis are the nicest, most laid back people's you'll ever meet. I agree though that desert climates seem to give people an austere sort of way of looking at the world.

Lots of religions have things that are unacceptable in the modern world. Abraham had a sex slave but Christians, Jews and most Muslims don't use that example to justify slavery. Although people in the US did as late as 150 years ago.

It's backward cultures that interpret religion in a way that justifies things like abusive attitudes towards women or contempt for non-believers.

My thoughts on this are that if you positively disrespect somebody's human rights through a deliberate criminal act, then you have unmistakably and irrevocably demonstrated you feel such (a) right is unnecessary & worthless and have, by your actions, forfeited the right to invoke that right in support of any (future) aim or ambition that you may have.

No plea bargains. No deals,

How did a mini cab driver from up north have over 80k in cash? Was that used for the first case? Is that being used to fund this?

I wouldn't be surprised if the tab for this is being picked up by some human rights law firm or charity.

It really just comes down to a breed of people with an outright hatred and repudiation of our culture, our customs, our society and our laws.

I saw a sign saying that in Wood Green WH Smith, asking us to bare with them while they re-organise their card section.

I though I'm not engaging in a group strip in this weather.

There was a religious aspect to the crimes, the Somalis said things to the kids when they were abusing them like "We are allowed to do this, are faith allows it" and the Pakistanis wrote the letter M on the bodies of the victims and called them Kafir why they were raping them.

So maybe the depth of acceptance of a religion is also a measure of the depth of cultural under-development?

If you already are pre-disposed to the notion that a man can own one ore more women, some fictitious all-seeing being (who just happens to agree with you) is not so much of a leap forward after all.

It's not really religion. There's just a lot of backward cultures in the world.

The UAF showed up in numbers at one of these trials as well to counter-protest the EDL who'd shown up to shout abuse at the accused.

Best bit of PR for the EDL ever that was.

The Somalis were the same they blamed everyone but the perpetrators, they even attacked the the parents of those that were abused as they came to court. The Pakistani community blame the girls they claim they seduced their men, they blame everyone but the rapists.

He "had" 83,000 in the bank - hope that was used for some compensation for his victims.

Who's paying for all this. These lawyers cost a fortune. There's no way an imprisoned mini cab driver can afford this.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong Mike I'm not saying Muslim SE Asia is perfectly functional (southern Thailand, Aceh separatists and Abu Sayyaf etc always kicking off)

But I reckon those desert/mountain parts of the world would be violent, brutal and unforgiving whether the people there were Muslim, Christian, Buddhist or even atheist.

Islam was introduced to what is now Malaysia (& Indonesia) by Arab/Islamic traders and carried with it an association with success & wealth: Cargo Cult style beliefs then took hold across the region and fairly soon following Islam was associated with success & prosperity.

There was no need to slash & burn to convert existing cultures as they, misguidedly, converted & accepted willingly. Very different from regions further north.

There are still incidences of Islamic extremism in the set-up of both nations - some of it very institutionalised.
